The Morigerati territory has a luxuriant vegetation composed by the Mediterranean scrub. The Mediterranean scrub is so called because it grows in areas with mild winters, little rainy summers and poor and very drained land.
The plants are predominantly evergreen, with small and leathery leaves to withstand long periods of drought.
The Mediterranean scrub symbol plant is the holm oak (Quercus ilex), then we have the flowering ash (Fraxinus ornus), the hombeam (Carpinus betulus), the strawberry tree (Arbutus unedo), the heather (Erica arborea), the lentisk (Pistacia lentiscus), the myrtle (Myrtus), the Mediterranean buckthorn (Rhamnus alaternus) and a beautiful variety of brooms (Spartium junceum, Calicotome spinosa, Cytisus scoparius….)
